At around 35cm tall, these are the smallest penguin species! 🐧 Fairy Penguins spend approximately 80% of their lives at sea, and the deepest recorded dive was down to 72m! 🌊 Fairy Penguins (or Little Blue Penguins) are found around New Zealand and Australia! 🇳🇿🇦🇺 How do you tell the difference between a male and a female? Adult females have a thinner beak, and males have a distinct hook on the end of their beak. Human impacts such as introduced predators, over-exploitation of marine ecosystems, oil spills, marine pollution and climate change are all threats Fairy Penguins face. ⚠️
